It was close.
Highland Park hit a pair of free throws with seven seconds left, but those shots didn’t become the game-winning ones Tuesday until Irving MacArthur missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer. The missed 3-pointer allowed Highland Park to escape with a 70-68 victory in the Class 6A Region II bi-district game at Lewisville.
Highland Park advances to play Kileen Shoemaker in the next round.
